Skirlaugh Return to Eastside as Unbeaten Home Record Goes on the Line
After a weekend without a fixture, Skirlaugh return to action this weekend as they welcome Fryston Warriors to Eastside Community Sports Trust for another important Conference Division Two clash.
With the regular season entering its closing stages, there is still plenty to play for as the Black & Gold look to continue an impressive campaign and, importantly, maintain their unbeaten home record at Eastside.
Saturday's clash with Fryston is currently Skirlaugh's final confirmed home fixture of the regular season, although there remains the possibility of the postponed Normanton fixture being rearranged for Saturday 29th August, subject to confirmation.
Back to Business
Skirlaugh head into the weekend on the back of an impressive 32-12 victory away at Milford in their last outing.
It was a performance full of character. After conceding inside the opening two minutes, Skirlaugh responded strongly and overcame injuries and a sin-binning to take control of the contest and secure an excellent away victory.
A free weekend has since given Matt Danville's squad an opportunity to recover and reset before turning their attention to Fryston and the important weeks ahead.
Protecting Eastside
One of the standout features of Skirlaugh's regular season has been their form on home soil, with Eastside remaining unbeaten territory throughout the Conference Division Two campaign so far.
Fryston Warriors will arrive looking to become the first visiting side to change that, while Skirlaugh will be determined to protect a record they have worked hard to build.
With the play-offs moving ever closer, the opportunity is there to continue building momentum and produce another big performance in front of the home support.
