Rugby4MND Festival Set to Unite Rugby League Community in Support of Skirlaugh Coach Craig Eskrett
The rugby league community is being invited to come together for a very special event later this summer as the Rugby4MND Awareness Festival aims to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and support two important charities close to the heart of one of Skirlaugh’s own.
Skirlaugh coach Craig Eskrett is currently bravely battling MND, a disease that affects the brain and nerves, impacting movement and daily life. Despite the challenges he faces, Craig has channelled his energy into creating a festival that celebrates everything he loves about rugby league while helping to shine a spotlight on the realities of living with MND.
The festival will take place at Hull KR, bringing together teams, families and supporters from across Yorkshire and beyond for a day built around rugby, community spirit and fundraising.
The event reflects the very best of rugby league. Time and again, the Hull rugby league family has shown its strength when one of its own needs support. Clubs, players, volunteers and supporters have always rallied together, and Rugby4MND is another opportunity for the game to demonstrate the compassion and unity that make the sport so special.
The festival promises something for everyone, with rugby taking centre stage throughout the day alongside a packed programme of entertainment and family activities.

Funds raised from the event will support Leeds Hospitals Charity and the Love Life Foundation, Craig’s chosen charities, while also helping to increase awareness of MND and the challenges faced by those living with the condition.
More than just a rugby festival, the day is about standing shoulder to shoulder with Craig and his family. It is an opportunity for the rugby league community to show its support, celebrate together and make a meaningful difference.
